7am came and we headed to Fort Wayne with a very turbulent decent which left me having to close my eyes and think happy thoughts whilst my stomach attempted climb higher in my throat! Luckily I won and no sick bag was used.
Uncle John was there to greet us along with the usual greeter handing out oatmeal cookies to all arrivals.
All 4 bags came through pretty quick and we were all set.
Home sweet home!!!
... It was so beautiful. We had a quick lunch stop and were back on the walking track up to the Chicago Bean. It's this giant silver bean which displays a reflection of the Chicago skyline. As we headed on and it got darker, myself and Emma tried to stay awake as long as possible so we were super tired when we did actually sleep and hopefully meant we were asleep for the bulk of the journey. ... Fortunately, we had one extra day in Cairo, so we'll just have to shuffle things around, but we won't miss anything on our schedule. I know this blogpost is a bit sarcastic, but when life gives you lemons, you just have to laugh at them. So that's what we've been doing. Due in part to the cardinals game earlier that day, and the 5 hour drive after it, we didn't get in to Chicago until around 10pm, paid 44 bucks for overnight parking and had the most terrifying driving experience of our lives.
