Day 28: May 24

... a wooded trail along a lake. With huge trails, lush landscape and countless post card pictures, I wish I have had more time to spend here. I love this place and already decide that I need to come back again. Knowing that I only have an hour left, I realize that my trail goes for a long ways around this lack called Roca Lago. The lake has large white caps with the rain coming down hard and wind blowing pretty strong. My down jacket is warm and I have a windbreaker over the top to get it ...

... hostel, which had great views with the south side of the lounge over looking the Beagal Canal and the surrounding mountains and the other looking up towards mountains. Here we did a trek up a mountain to visit an icecave which was really beautiful. The actual cave was fairly impressive but the lagoon next to the cave was more impressive as it was completely opaque and spearmint coloured. The second day we went with some people we met to ...

The End of the World...

... finished their last journey of the season. The next day was hiking day but it was only Anna´s enthusiasm that dragged me and Anne out of bed to face a bus trip. Luckily once up I felt a lot better which was good because Anna took a turn for the worse on the bus there and started to really feel her hangover. I was thinking about taking it easy and maybe not walking too much and just sitting and enjoying the scenery for a change but the decision was made for me when ...

Fin del Mundo

... Monday. That was one of the best days I´ve had since I arrived in Argentina 4 weeks ago, despite all the sweating! I´ve taken millions of photos of the falls but I´ll try to keep it limited on here, I don´t want to bore you too much! It just seemed that everywhere you looked, there was another amazing view that I just had to take a photo of. So that´s me finished in Argentina for now (I´ll be back to fly to Australia). It´s been an awesome 4 weeks and I´m ...

Day 2. Buenos Aires to Ushuaia

... remainder is a Maritime Museum. We all met up at 5pm and were taken to the port to board our "floating hotel" for the next week or so - the Hurtigruten ship the MV Fram. Our cabin was small but more than adequate - the rest of the ship was very plush. The Fram is a relatively new ship and specially designed for Antarctic and Arctic waters. We had a very nice dinner in the evening after sailing at 19.00, then collapsed into bed

... back in Boulder, Colorado! The Pan-American Highway, which starts in Alaska, ends in Ushuaia. You could drive all the way from Juno, Alaska, through the US, Mexico, all of Central and South America, but when you get to Ushuaia, there is no further to go. Ushuaia is literally the end of the road. Locals refer to it as "the end of the world and the beginning of everything." We got off the ship around 7:30AM and ...
