Another massive day, but the weather has turned and the heavens have opened up wide! Train trip to Arashiyama where we experienced Batik making. After chosing the design and the article we wanted to work on, we set about with paint brushes and hot wax to trace and paint! The finished products are amazing! I could have arrived early and spent the day in Imabari but I had no rush leaving Matsuyama. It's a pretty city. The black castle on the hill. ...

... do you think? Dad went back to ask for directions and one of the patrons kindly showed us that it was just three shops away from the bar! (We are the worst!). The patron then made sure the chef knew we were there. Then the barman came out to check that we were ok - great service! Our food of choice tonight was okonomiyaki. It is a savory think pancake, topped with Chinese cabbage, bean sprouts, seafood and topped with soba noodles (which are lovely ...
