But the hostel was clean, and you could buy bottles of beer from the grumpy security man in the evening. I enjoyed sitting in the foyer writing up my diary in the company of a troupe of Danish bikers. And best of all, the Wolf's Lair was rocked by an enormous thunderstorm. I like thunderstorms in evocative sites.

Having gone to bed very late to make use of the beautiful room they than got up early to go to the Baltic Sea. The city is not right by the sea but there are lots of docks there as Gdansk has been a port for hundreds of years.
