... I also had the best lemon granita (like a slushy but much more elegant!) I have ever tasted. This is a very pretty town and the houses are almost orange in colour as opposed to the grayish, beige, yellow tones we've seen. Also, the streets are lined with gelato places making it even more of a must see! This is where Rob burned rubber in Pizzo as we had to back track and do multiple u-turns to get into the gelato place parking lot. He may be a "snowflake" ...
We started our day with breakfast at La Gioiosa, where we are staying, joined by Louise and Deron, and Alana, Roberto, Pam and Jeff, before they depart for Bari. Zia Isolina has a mass said for Uncle Angelo and my mom when she comes here so we went to the old church for this. It was wonderful to hear their names mentioned in the town they were born and in this very old church. Nobody quite knew how old it was but I would have to guess at least 100 years. Tonight we went up to town for a festa in the town square. The theme was 60's, 70's ...
