        More sunshine and more swimming

A travel blog entry by glynfamily on Nov 09, 2015

A very quiet day today, late start, leisurely breakfast and then swimming before the sun got too fierce. Lunch followed by a nap for me and Lara, whilst Andy and Charlie played pool. 3.30pm and back in the pool again, the only event of the day was the dogs getting upset with Lara walking past them with a towel round her. A very scary few moments as the dogs all started ...

It took us: - 45 min boat ride from Perhentian - 10 min taxi to the bus station - almost 6 hours waiting for our night bus to leave ( which it finally did at 11pm) - 8 hours on the bus, and this time not the luxurious bus ...

Day three of four at Bagus Place. What a difference a day makes. Thunderstorms all night and after a brief respite in the morning, rain and thunder most of the day. Despite feeling stiff and lethargic in the morning I managed to motivate myself to run. A gentle walk to the start of the concrete path and then a thirty minute run through the fishing village and onto the waterfall via the jetty. With all the rainfall overnight the ...

... for the next 4 hours waiting for another boat.

Eventually we made it, were shown to our lush room and turned up for dinner to discover that our boss had actually forgotten that we were turning up (hence the lack of boat) and they already had 4 volunteers in the resort. 2 French volunteers who had refused to work in another resort hotel as they didn’t like it and were equally miserable to be here and Tom and Fran, backpacking Brits who had lots of ...
