... use the traditional methods with handheld fishing nets catching fish whats known in Swedish as "Sik" a small salmonlike fish living in sweet and brackish water, its latin name is Coregonus Lavaretus.

After spending half a day in Haparanda we stopped to shop some fresh foods for the dinner in northern Finland.

... speak in Finnish, and Patrik would help when I didn't understand. It was harder to understand them because theor accent is different from the people in Turku.

after taking a shower in mosquito repellent, Patrik was very excited to teach me how to drive the one person traxtor. It was very cozy in the area but he showed me how to do it. It was a lot of fun and I have a video to share when im back in Turku.

Not much to today's blog really. I had awful trouble sleeping last night - I discovered that my Kindle no longer wants to charge, and has subsequently run out of batteries, so I think it's dead forever. It gets a charging light when I plug it in, but it doesn't actually charge, so that's really frustrating. I'll try a new cable but I really don't think that's the problem, so I might have to replace it before I fly back to ...

... to strong contrary winds but only just!

We arrived at Marjaniemi at 18:30, joining 5 other visiting yachts. However, it was not possible to pay anyone as the tourist office, some 300m away was closed and wouldn’t be open by the time we departed in the morning. Other boats had similar problems and as they were locals ie Finns, we decided to follow their example and not worry. One of the boats had the code for the minimal toilet facilities, one male and one female shower ...
