... a huge sign (see below) and drove us into Brugge. We walked around the charming city, visited a museum, and had scrumptious Belgium waffles and then chocolates. This day was tops on our list for our vacation, thanks to Anna and Wim - wonderful couple!!

... after Kilometre......we push on........following the little green numbered route signs. Cycle route 22 becomes route 56 after 3k and then we turn right down the broad tree lined canal on route 24 for another 5k and so on and so on. We are frequently overtaken by pensioners and small children. So what! All the time we are dogged by a dull ache that demands you stop the bike and get off for a few minutes to recover feeling! ... the front of the awning on as we have found that unless it’s chucking it down we don’t need it on and it’s good to be able to retreat under for some shade when he sun gets too hot.
