The weather during the night was bad, high winds, choppy water and rain. Woke to a windy bleak climate, not nice, and it's cold. Looks like we will be staying here for the day and another night and hope the wind abates. Looks like another walk through Tholen (which I will surely not mind,) to ward off cabin fever.

... the front of the awning on as we have found that unless it’s chucking it down we don’t need it on and it’s good to be able to retreat under for some shade when he sun gets too hot. We were having breakfast under the awning today so I came out of the van and slipped my clogs on to get the table ready and I thought that my right foot felt a bit uncomfortable. After a while my big toe felt wet so ...

... place if you are on a diet. I managed to buy chocolate from only one shop! We also did some beer tasting here, which was very nice. Man, these beers are so strong. Most are between 5-8% and the really strong ones are about 10 or 11%, almost like drinking a glass of wine! So Bruges was a hit and as the title says, we'll be back I reckon. Stayed by a canal for the night (free) ,nice spot.

... people. They are very efficient like the Germans, pragmatic like the Dutch, yet somehow unpretentious. They are not a warm and fuzzy lot, but they are not rude either. Many service industry people seem less than enthusiastic about their jobs, and are somewhat flippant and surly. But whatever, I don't need them to butter me up...it's just an observation.
