    ... Tyne. A "small world" moment.

    When ordering the wine, I did ask for "un demi", but, we received a full litre. Kathleen decreed we could not drink a litre of wine between us, at lunch time, and then cycle back along the canal, without serious risk of falling in. Solution, I emptied the water from my water bottle and filled it with half a litre of Rose, which we drank later, as we rode back to the van.

    ... we do not get a reduction in price, which, does not please Kathleen.

    But, we have a good view of the Basilica from our pitch, to compensate for the lack of electric hook-up.

    An evening stroll across the bridge, into Nevers, rounds off the day.

    Will write this up as time permits but the highlight for me today was the visit to a little village called Apremont which is very proud of being beautiful and rightly so 20village.html

    Before that we went to the city of Nevers.

    ... budget of York Minister! Pretty decrepit in places. A shame really as it will start to be too dangerous to be in soon.

    The following morning, the wind was gone and the sun was out. Our ride that day was about 61 miles (98 km), so we were all happy for the change in the weather and the chance to enjoy rural France without getting soaked, or worrying that we'd be blown off our bikes.
