... didn't work out. The ferry took us past a couple of the stopping off at a beautiful one in a crescent shaped bay with all the white washed buildings lining the beach. We got off at the second village stop where we boarded a bus back to Chania. But to get back into the mountains and off the coast we went through more switchbacks. Plakias is the prototypical beach town, lined along the waterfront with all kinds of dining options, small markets, beachy souvenirs and toys, and a real laid-back attitude.
