OAT prides themselves on learning and discovery ,experiences and today did not disappoint. Our first stop was a medieval monastery near the town. The Gothic buildings were massive, dating back to the 14th century. While the monks took vows of labor and poverty, their was nothing shabby about their home. Today we got to go into the buildings. After 1948 it became a labor camp for political prisoners of the Communist regime. It …

The crowd in front of the Rathaus at midnight was huge, thousands, and packed a little too tight for my comfort. We stood on the edges and watched the fireworks. Afterward, marveled at how pleasant it was to not have to fight the crowd getting ...

... We always prefer to take the country roads where possible as opposed to the main highways. We were not disappointed with the drive as you can see from the photos. We drove through quite a thick mist which was rather nice, being nice and cosy in the car. Every house had their huge stack of firewood ready for winter which reminded us of Jeremy's wood stacks. Hope you like the photo we took for you, what a stack hey!! They are all so neat!! We then came across a thatched roof cottage ...
