... one Brat and hot dog stand open that served the meat in pretzel buns, so of course Kevin was in heaven.

Switzerland does not have regular coffee, so you have to get something with espresso and they don't have bagels - only croissants, which are quite delicious.

Switzerland is extremely expensive, but not to the Swiss since minimum wage is $25 Francs, so let's say we have tried our best to navigate the grocery store to ...

      1727. The Higher, the Colder

Day 282 8 hrs, 12 kms Day Totals: 16 hrs, 32 kms The valley starts to climb a bit more steeper, which makes me a bit nervous. The higher I get means the colder it will get at night. Also, it means things get more touristy and thus, more expensive as I approach ski resort towns. In fact the next couple of towns (which are officially just one town) look more ...

... s a whole network of trails up the mountainside, some catering to farmers who grow grass on the higher slopes, others cater to hikers. The higher I go, the better view I get of the valley, cliffs, forests, high mountain peaks, stretching on to the east and the west.

Finally I reach the trail that goes up to the base of the falls. I figure there's no point in hauling my backpack up, since I'm coming back the same way. And nobody steals anything here in the Alps... right?... ...

Day 282 2 hrs, 5 kms In the morning I'm greeted by a parade of joggers and cyclist out getting their daily exercise. I follow the path for a ways, across the river and under the freeway... then suddenly get the feeling that I'm going in the ...
