We had a relatively quiet start to this morning as our walking tour did not start until 10.30. This gave us time to shower, pack, breakfast, vibes mums ( mum S was not answering) and Bethany. It is lovely to hear some news from home. We arrived punctually as that's how we roll and the guide did not turn up. A few others were there waiting as well. We gave up and decided to do it ourselves as we really only have a short time until the train leaves at 2 .05 pm. We went to ...

Well obviously, if you're going to drive in Italy on the first weekend in August, you need to be going north. That was lucky!

Having finished packing up the car with what seemed to be three times as much as we brought with us - how come it fit getting here, and doesn't on our way back? - we added a trip to a supermarket to fill up with cheap booze and Baci chocolates - ah that explains it!

    Marco turned ...

... back up into a ball, and some strange plastic horses that kept trotting around in a circle.
Scala Opera House (apparently world renowned) was not that impressive from the outside, we think it was probably more magnificent inside though. We stopped across the road to check our map underneath a statue of Leonardo.

The last monument to see before dinner was the Arc of Peace, set in Milan's main park. It reminded us ever so slightly of Central Park in New York, and had such ...
