Other than that sat at various cafes having coffees and beers and reading my captivating book. Nice to have so much time to read.
And perhaps it's because I know I'm leaving tomorrow, but it has been enough, and I miss my cats. Enjoying this last day, but also looking forward to being home ...
... from Quedlinburg) and then hiked on the top of the ridge for about 3-4 km on that Teufelsmauer. A bit taxing for my knee in parts but I just took it slowly, and a little bit scary in some parts with deep drops right next to the stone or mud paths. But that also gave it an extra thrill.
What I also liked it was quite varied in scenery and paths. Very impressive.
Rain was predicted.
I walked around all the little hidden streets of Quedlinburg, climbed a watchtower, had coffee at a cute cafe.
Walked around some more at random and through parts I had not seen yet.
It started to rain, so I sat in a cafe for an hour or so reading and having big beer. Very pleasant and leisurely day, waiting for a dry day to do another forest / mountain hike. ...
... confusing where you should buy tickets and I thought it wouldn't be far to walk and I could do with the exercise after drinking so many milk coffees and beers. :-) But the climb was very steep and pretty taxing.
But it was worth it, it's a beautiful castle, with loads of rooms all decorated with many details of various ages, and explanations.
