... Lake where the Snake River is dammed to enjoy some more quiet reading time. After getting back to our campsite, Andrew received a voicemail from our real estate company in Portland, letting us know that the apartment we had secured had flooded and was uninhabitable. We scrambled through dinner and then headed back to Jackson to use the internet at the most fantastic honkey tonk pub we have ever seen (over a dozen elk heads ...
... for the entirety of the trip. We are equipped to handle such a situation with car games, a book called "Would You Rather," a full on intense game of 50 state license plate (only five states left!), some audio books, an iPod full of playlists and Sirius Radio in Westie, our Kia.
We also do a pretty good job of amusing each other. Joe decided that the signs cautioning drivers to be wary of deer looked kind of homosexual on ...

There is a loop road around the middle of the park so I pretty much drove right around that and stopped along the way whenever there was something to look at.Yellowstone NP is fantastic and has a wide variety of attractions - lakes, waterfalls, geysers and wildlife. I got to see some Buffalo up close and even saw a wolf running along the side of the road. I finished my day in ...
... belt off and try the same against the bear. If it wasn't the noise...perhaps the site of Marcos running towards a the grizzly with his trousers round his ankles might do the trick! We sadly did not manage to test this theory out. Anyway, great walk...tired bodies after the freezing and the hiking, so back on the car and off to Pocatello (Idaho) for a good night sleep and some Mexican take away in the room. Before you ask...there is nothing in Pocatello.
Teton Village, Wyoming, United States veromarcos... light comes on on the dash. Back we go into town dreading that VJ might see us. Would you believe, we travelled from garage to garage, looking for an air pressure thingy. Two of them you had to PAY for the air pressure - not a problem if the thing worked! Finally we located one and at last we were once again on our way - about 45 minutes later! Early in the afternoon we arrived in Jackson Hole with the snow coming down quite ...

After two weeks spent on the road, I've become a bit of a conniseur for guessing how close various types of internal-combustion-engine powered machines will get to me. What I've concluded from my fieldwork so far is thus: logging trucks will generally try to kill you whilst giving you a blast with their horn, whether there ...
Teton Village, Wyoming, United States charleslamb1985... years. We left Monday but first I had to rig a way that Madison and Liam could not get behind the TV or up in a cubby hole above the TV (Madison did that and when she jumped down she ended up behind the slide and I had to open the window to pull her out). I borrowed a sheet from Rhonda and we closed it in cabinets and drawers to block access to all cubby holes and back of the TV (boy was Liam upset). We then had to stop to check the ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States sabel94873Hi, Back again. Just about to head down for a drink- much needed after a half a day of skiing. Today we woke up late, Jason made a cooked breakfast- setting off smoke alarms! And decided to ski from around 12:30pm. It was great fun, snow is amazing, legs died, the altitude was hard to deal with. Think the top of the chair is around 9,000ft ...
Teton Village, Wyoming, United States naejay... my legs after peanuts).
There was a tremendous lot to see and after I saw the Terrace Nature Trail I went east on the Grand Loop Road. I saw Undine Falls and then stopped at the Calcite Springs Over Look. Heading south on the loop I saw Tower Falls which I have a photo of (I actually broke down and took a number of photos while I was here). Next it was the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone-Inspiration ...
