... train to Bern.
In Bern I finally saw my friends again that I hadn't seen for a couple of years (ever since they moved here). After a simple but very nice lunch we decided to go for a walk to the town centre, where we saw some bears and some lovely buildings and clocks. Off to the French Riviera in the morning. St. Maxime on the French Riviera is the site of 45th amphibious invasion of France. Originally the mission was to be name Operation Anvil, and Normandy was to be Operation Hammer (hammer and anvil) but the military didn't have enough ships to pull off a 2 headed ...

... it'. Here in Switzerland though, they do things a bit, erm, differently. We should have seen it coming. It's not like there weren't signs. We went for a hike in Liechtenstein and saw on the map that we would be passing by a 'Hütte' (Hut) on the way down. Great, we thought, conjuring up images from the Alpine Club of Canada. With any luck there would be an outhouse, maybe a water source. Not quite. This Hütte was more like a restaurant, complete with ...
