... to play and run around without any hassles. Dave and Jenny prepared the starting of the Beef, so we could eat it for dinner the following night. The next day we decided to go to Cluny to visit the Abbey and the town centre. We were lucky, as it was Saturday, and there was a market on. So on October 30 - we visited several wineries - tasted various c******nay types - visited a family owned winery a purchase a few bottles of pouilly fuisse - my favorite - had a great dinner at the B and B
October 31 - visited Cluny and the Abbey - the revolutionaries in 1790 destroyed the most beautiful abbey -- we seen this a lot throughout France - we then went to a 1600 chateau - beautiful visit.

... got to bed around 10.30pm. We went through a lock during dinner, but as was dark couldn't see how it all worked, we also docked at Tournus during the latter part of dinner. All done very smoothly. The other side, we settled into the 430 mile journey south via Dijon to Macon. We had only picked the town because it had a hotel and Buffalo Grill in close proximity to each other and the motorway. The Ibis Budget hotel was just as expected – clean and boring however the meal was
great and the little bar opposite the hotel filled the rest of the evening, getting us in the holiday mood nicely.

We set out this morning to head south with a stop off at Chateau La Rochepot about 15 Kim's south into Burgandy country. We headed south west from Beaune into the hills above the plain and the country side changed to vineyards where the vines are trellised on a single wire about 1400 high.
