On the 1st January, we left Italy for the French country side. It was our longest drive of about 500km. The scenery was beautiful with snow covered fields and small towns. We drove through the Mont Blanc tunnel which is 12km long through the mountains. We arrived late in the afternoon with the two satellite navigation systems taking us different routes - one along a rode and the other on a mud track. The other side, we settled into the 430 mile journey south via Dijon to Macon. We had only picked the town because it had a hotel and Buffalo Grill in close proximity to each other and the motorway. The Ibis Budget hotel was just as expected – clean and boring however the meal was
