Well this is where we end this years blog,
Just a few statistics though:
- We've anchored 104 days out of the 155 since leaving Lisbon back in April
- we've been underway just over 400hrs (similar to last year)
- we've sailed 122 hrs (approx 30%) compared to 162 hrs last year

After a relatively peaceful night, other than being surrounded by spectacular electrical
storms, we awoke to swell rolling in to the bay. Left fairly early and completed a 50 mile passage (we got in a pretty good sail, which is good) and anchored not far from Arbatax – there's some rocks/islands which provided some shelter from the swell.
Unfortunately the anchorage also came with a swarm of mozzies ...
Caglari Visited nearby eastern beaches. Driving involved negotiating hairpin turns climbing and descending the hills along the way. Not the most relaxing drive, but picturesque nevertheless. A delightful lunch of pear and cheese and walnuts was superbly presented - sorry I did not take a photo. Coming home got lost but ended up surveying the engineering works of recently constructed tunnels. Home for an early ...

... managed to sail three quarters of the way to Villasimius. Villasimius is our chosen Marina for the winter (in theory) and we are going to be able to check it out in the next few days. We have seen a video and a few people have recommended it so we will soon find out if it is true. When we arrived in the anchorage it was busy but not packed like it was for instance near Palma in Mallorca.
