The last time Ed was in his Dad's home town was almost 20 years ago. His childhood memories of property was of acres of lush land, flowering trees, a small vineyard, fruit trees, a beautiful windmill with a water reservoir and grass. His aunt lives in the family home now, with some extended family ( with a complex dynamic) , some dogs, stray cats, and rabbits. Ok. I warned you. This is a blog devoted to the reasons I havenīt gotten more than 5 hours of sleep a night (and thatīs a really good night) since Iīve been in Chile.

    1. The Cat - The issue of the cat has gotten worse since our host family started leaving our bedroom door open during the day. Either the cat is coming in and rubbing itīs nasty self on my stuff, or itīs dander is wafting in freely. Either way, I wake up sneezing ...

Not My Story, but SO Worth Telling

A travel blog entry by empritchard on Jun 19, 2011

All of us volunteers keep in touch over facebook. We have our own group page where we ask each other for help and support and share funny stories. While chatting with several volunteers last night, I heard the WEIRDEST host family story. I was already grateful for my wonderful family, but this...well, just read on.

Amanda was sent to teach in Punta Arenas on the far Southern tip of Chile. She's extremely far from the rest of us living in ...
