... This evening, we decided to head out to try our luck with the local cuisine at a well-reviewed restaurant. With a fresh and fruity white wine, we sampled fantastic mussels with olive oil and capers. We relished in a dish of tender octopus salad. For our main courses, I enjoyed Rigatoni alla Norma, pasta with a rich tomato sauce, topped with fried eggplant, fresh basil and salted ricotta, while Mario enjoyed the catch of the day, grilled, and ...
... is a big ugly train yard. So we came back to the hotel's rooftop terrace with cold drinks and more arancini, and a 3-euro bottle of Sicilian red wine.
Tonight, over a few glasses of deliciously complex, slightly effervescent nectar of the gods (Bacchus in particular), we'll decide what to do with our extra day in the corner of the world, and toast to the fact that we are finally settled.

Met at the bus stop by my phone ringing. Roberto piled us all plus bags into his little merc, I was sitting on graham bag.
Apartment lovely but quite a few step, 4th floor. Lucky Roberto carried jen n my bags. Fabulous balcony/roon top patio were we breakfast watching the rich n famous in their yachts.
Only 28/30 here - cool.
Walked to the parque archeologico. Huge greek/roman ruins in the middle of the new city.

By 5pm the sun had gone behind some clouds so I decided to brave the heat again and do some site seeing! I'm right in the centre of town so I saw the Basilica Carhedral, Palazzp Biscari, Sammartini and Zappala as well as a big park called Guardino Bellini which was really nice!
