Mexico de nuevo

Flying into Mexico and hitting the wall of heat, I was certain something must be wrong. This doesn't feel like the regular Mexico heat, I know I’m supposed to stand it, why is it so difficult right now? We found out that it is indeed way hotter than normally for this time of the year and that it only rained approx. 10 % of what it usually does. Not good… We were picked up by a family’s friend named Tomás who drove us to our lovely Rosa-Maria. Yippy, yippy, we have ...

Vive Mexico!

Its been about three weeks since Tracy and I got to Zihuatanejo (see wah tah
NAY ho), which is in the Mexican state of Guerrero. We picked this town solely based on what we saw online as far as: population (not too big or too small), access to many different beaches, and the potential for lots of restaurants to choose from.

Zihuatanejo, or "Zihua" as the locals call it, is a fairly new city. There are no giant cathedrals or colonial buildings like you would find in Mexico ...

If you need proof of creation, go to the BEACH!

This past weekend I went to Ixtapa, which is a beach city about 6 hours from where I'm living! I was invited by a woman named Daphne from the church here, and so we went with her mom, sister, daughter, and nephew. It was a lot of fun, very hot, and and sometimes very difficult with the language barrier.

Daphne and her mother are new Christians. Apparently Daphne came to the women's group at the church about 4 months ...

Heighten Military Presence but Beautiful Beaches

... seemed as if the young men were bored and just wanted to stop us to check out Christina. Both times they told us it was a routine search but they didn't really search much and when they asked for ID, it was poorly viewed.  In both situations the soldiers were friendly and did not give us a hard time. Furthermore, in both situations, they asked Christina if I was her Husband… not sure how that relates to anything?

The town those Shawshank fellas escaped too

... had a kick ass arcade for the kids. Go figure. Helen and I had a great dinner way a top the bay one night and dinner in the downtown area another night. We had this great bay access path below our hotel that gave us a thirty minute walk to town and made a great jogging path in the morning. I even gave the surf a try right in front of our hotel in the bay but was way to close to the rocks for me. This little local nut on a surf board would ride waves right into the rocks.

Last entry from Zihua and next destiny will be?

... time away from here and see something else. I'm excited about seeing everybody and living in Berlin. I'm excited about a lot of things, but I'm also excited to see how it will be to be back to Germany, to see if I can easily get adjusted to what used to be so familiar. Let's keep our fingers crossed that we'll be able to make the most positive out of everything and let's see how I can use my new free mind for the best. For the very end, here is what I will miss and won ...

Random Mexico, what I face on a daily basis

... like this for an election! It felt more like carnival for me. Something that I had expected for the revolution day. The candidates also have their own song. The candidate with most funds seems to be Alejandro Bravo. I know the song by heart, as passing cars have it on loud speakers and I can hear it in our apartment. Jason hates him since they stuck two stickers on Rosa-Maria without asking us. It really put him down. I'm very excited to see with what else they ...

Adios PV! Cruising and beach living.

... how close he was able to get to a Great Egret that was lounging on the shore. There are pictures of the Egret feeding, walking along and simply sitting staring at the ocean. It seemed as if the Egret used the beach in the same manner as humans do, or vice versa. The far end of the beach is where more cabanas and residences are located. Women in the village were doing chores including laundry along the shores of the lagoons across ...

... me to get up and drink water, eat and go to the bathroom whenever I´ve been really, really sick (read near death)! She always comes, sits at the side of my bed and tells me to get up and drink as much water as I can and then this last time she told me "I´ll see you soon,Bubby then pinched me on the cheek and gave me a hug and a kiss! If my count is right then I have met this woman 7 times in my life and it´s always been when I was so sick that I should have died. A big part of ...
