I did´n get to see munch of Madrid exept the metro system. Went to the airport to straighten things with Air Comet/AeroMexico and then back to the train station. Quite tiring.
But Trini was so nice, a perfect host !
Leon is a nice middle-sized city with a beautifull cathedral and narrow streets typical from spain, and of course a good nightlife. I went out this night with Ruth (Trini´s daughter) and her friends, and had a great time !
I like spain, I´ll be back next year.
León, Castilla y Leon, Spain doctorhugo... shrimp (sorry I don´t have the Spanish names and Cathy isn´t close). Camaron de ajo = garlic shrimp. Dessert and coffee at a table in the plaza near the Cathedral where we could watch the people stroll by.

Believe it or not, the Convent has a curfew so we returned at 9:20 for evening prayers, a Pilgrim´s Blessing and the message that "none of you are here by chance." Definitely food for thought and a nice ending to a wonderful, amazing day in Leon.
León, Castile-León, Spain and Canary Islands jwhit8744... extra 7 hours for the next flight! I forgot to mention earlier, that Nancy, Sandi & Lynne got a ticket when driving from San Sebastian to Gijon, for not turning on their lights when they went through a tunnel! They had to pay 42 euros on the spot to get out of that one. We all left the hotel and walked along the river to the Parador, an old palace which has been converted to a hotel and where N, S, and L are staying. We went to the bar ...
Leon, Spain and Canary Islands underveis... I took the time to go through James chapter 3 (the chapter that I have been reading this week) and dissect it verse by verse. It is amazing how much more you find when you slow down and really think about each and every verse! I wrote two whole pages on just one chapter, plus a whole page about the book itself (like the author and time period and stuff). After that I listened ...
León, Spain southamerica4hi... juices in the bars along the way. By about half way I came right and enjoyed the walk out of Sahagun and into the countryside. It is so big and flat and empty. It's a bit like a Graham Sydney painting, huge skies and golden landscapes, but without the fences (wheat have less of tendency to wander off than sheep). Last night I stayed in Bercianos Real Camino (23km), another nun-run place where we all pitch in to make dinner, set the ...
