... by farms with cows wearing their bells. What a noise! It is amazing the cows are not deaf At the top was a walk around the peak but again sadly no view. ( good excuse to come back ). Also at the top, Bern had arranged an Alpenhorn for us to try, I actually managed to a decent sound out of it :). Thank you high school music for showing me how to blow a trumpet :-). ... door at ever increasing heights up the platform. Before long we were on our way clunking up the mountain. The first half of the ride gradually gave us great panoramic views of where we had come from and the surrounds. It was amazing to see the gradient of the track up the mountain and I was very happy not to be climbing this monster. Next we went into ...

Unfortunately we took a series of wrong turns and our hike turned into about a 2.5 hour trek over 5 miles. We all became delirious by the end of the hike and were so happy once we finally reached the gondola station. Let me just mention that our coach Steve and our host Dave both turned around about 15 minutes in to take the gondola the entire way up. The ...

... covering of snow on the taller mountains. We arrived into our hostel in Lucerne called the Lion Lodge Hostel. We were very impressed with this little place. It wasn't noisy at all, we got our own bathroom, there were kitchen facilities, a lounge, dinning room and the staff were very helpful. Not to mention the location, We were right opposite the Lion Monument, one of Lucerne's greatest tourist attractions. After settling in, we headed out to see the beautiful town. ...
