... on a conveyer belt and if you ordered some it would arrive by Shinkansen within 30 seconds of your order. With dishes all priced at ¥100 (60p) a lot of fish was eaten! So with my belly full I said goodby to Makoto and Tomoko and all the other WWOOFers and got on the train bound for Osaka with Lauren. I was sad to leave as I had built up such strong relationships but at the same time it is nice to be in civilisation again where the nearest ice cream isn't a 20 minuet boat ride ...

... of English. We drove for about a minuet before the car stopped and we all got out. I had no idea what was going on so I just followed everyone to a small boat which we all boarded. Kilian explained that the bridge was under construction so for the moment we had to go by sea to the house. The views from the boat were great but I'm not great with words so will let the pictures do the talking I arrived at the house just in time for "ocha time" ...

... crow castle' for its unusual black facade was very aesthetically pleasing. The same can be said for the gardens which has big wide open spaces and all the features of a traditional Japanese garden. After visiting Okayama, I headed on to Hiroshima on the slowest bullet train ever( nearly 2 hours for a 40 minute journey because of 20 minute stops at every station on the way!) Tomorrow I will explore Hiroshima and in particular the peace memorial ...

... circle started in Hiroshima, and be back in this city.
I will probably go back to the same hostel, as I liked it very much. Over there, I may have to find a bike shop, after all this kilometres, the chain cries to be replaced.
I can take it now a bit easy, have still more then two weeks to catch the ferry in Kagoshima, but I better plan this remaining time, or else I will suddenly ...

Up a bit later, being Sunday and all. Very pleased to see a copy of the Japan Times (English language daily hanging in a plastic bag from the door knob. The Japan Times is essentially selected New York Times articles with an added 70% Japanese contribution and a welcome chance to stay in touch with news in a place where little English media is found.
