Special K Day - Korakuen Gardens and Kurashiki

... place has French bakeries galore and they love beer! Has to be in the genes.

Everything is beautifully presented in the stores with even the simplest of purchases usually beautifully packaged.

The gardens redeemed Okayama, but it does not impress otherwise. So it is not somewhere you would visit unless you love gardens. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and just wish we had the space and the youth to have a large beautiful garden.

Awake at 1 am to watch the Rugby World Cup final. It is on Japanese TV. Don't understand a word they are saying, but good to have visual combined with The Australian newspaper online realtime blog. Took a sleeping pill and went to bed at half time as clear the All Blacks were the better side and early train to catch. Would have loved the Wallabies to win the trophy but not to be. Final score 34-17.

... Tom and Wills, we had an hour long catch up. During this call, we were contacted by the fabulous Jack and El, and so called them afterwards. Jack and El were also on a call to the marvelous Jesse. We were able to talk to Jack and El for nearly two hours and had a great catch up. After that, we called Jesse and were able to have a good quality chat with him for approaching an hour. By the end of this time, it was nearly midnight for us, and we'd ...

Good bye Osaka. We are off to see the White Egret as Himeji Castle is also known. We are very lucky as the 6 year long restoration costing 2.4 billion yen was completed March 2015. The castle is 52 m heigh with 6 floors above and one basement. It is a national treasure and rightly so. There are 8 buildings in the complex and a photo around every corner. From Himeji we made our way ...
