... have come to realize that people are just people in the end. There are universal human values that exist and those who express it in different ways aren't dangerous but just different. The whole idea of a person coming from a certain group with a certain history creates mere myths which places "you" against "them." Nationhood and nationalism are what create conflict between different groups of people in the end, because these two things do not promote understanding. Learning about ...
Krakow, Southern Poland, Poland izunia... stay for both the location and the price. Met lots of students and heard many good travel stories and recommendations. I just love Krakow – there is never a moment that you can’t take a photo. Very walkable, many cathedrals, horses, nationalities! I went into a small pizza restaurant for dinner and sat by myself while my pizza was cooking. A family came in (the only other people in there). They sat by a piano. The son ...
Krakow, Southern Poland, Poland rebecca.mcneal... be enough. I made arrangements with the guy at reception that if I felt I needed another night I would be able to inform him later in the afternoon. In fairness he was sound and allowed me to avail of a free breakfast even though I wasn't entitled. I was dying for a shower and lye down but I forced myself to get out and explore the sights. Even though it was barely 9am the heat of the day was already stifling. If I was going to use one word to describe Warsaw it would have to be 'phoenix ...
Krakow, Southern Poland, Poland talamarkoFor Photos Please Visit: http://www.travelpod.com/members/rbruce Greetings all, Sorry for the long delay on entries. Easy internet access hasn't crossed our path at opportune times. We are now in Krakow, Poland, however, and internet cafes are everywhere. We travelled NE from Budapest, into the hills of Hungary. We passed through the highest peaks Hungary has to offer (the Bukk Hills), which were spectactular but not terribly impressive height-wise. Heading ...
Krakow, Southern Poland, Poland ainazJust three weeks after the winter holiday I found myself with another couple of days off. Steve found himself alone in Glasgow for a few weeks while Stacey flew home for a wedding, and I convinced him to come and join me in Poland for a bit. The plan was to spend a day in Krakow, followed by a couple of days in the Tatra mountains after which I'd join him in Glasgow for a concert. A few days, a couple of cities, some big mountains and a lot of travel ...
Krakow, Southern Poland, Poland willi have to say, i was definetely more impressed with krakow than warsaw. a bit more character and liveliness... something was going on in the main square every nite... from theater to music to just plain festivities... i walked around the barbican (old city walls) and up a few towers... it was nice strolling through the city streets looking in some of the shops and the market in the square had some amazing artisans and crafts... i ...

Krakow, Poland papayaprincess... burn Zlotys. Had my first coke in Europe - needed the sugar and I had a craving. Shopped in a tiny wedge-shaped mall - very awkward, but I guess when you don't have enough space! Ate dinner at a traditional Polish place - apparently it is award-winning but I found it to be mediocre. Prices seemed a bit high ... perhaps the Polish-language menu might be less? Had some bread w/ herbed butter and also ... lard? See pics. Pig fat seems to be a staple here. Fried veal cutlet ...
Krakow, Poland pwong... it too. I had to enter through a gothic styled entrance that had a chapel to the man himself with some of his things inside. I then followed the winding path up. Very steep sides. Two paths. I worked out later that you go up clockwise and down again clockwise but it's the other path so you don't bump into other visitors or the numerous gardeners that were at work. Excellent views over the city from above. There was a free museum and I wondered why they kept ...
Krakow, Poland sarahbooth... was the biggest rush meeting new people, experiencing things I had never imagined and finding myself bursting with a confidence I never knew I had in me. Also into the mix that day was the fact that most of my friends (blokes anyway) would be at the stag do tomorrow. After having not seen anyone for 2 months, I get to see them all at once. It made me happy as a pig in **** just thinking about it. But before I met up with my friends, there was one more ...
