... my foot. Since I got a kitchen in my room, it would be a waste if I am not using it. So I decided to plan to utilize this kitchen and make some simple meals from time to time. A true highlight of any japanese experience is Zao Onsen, a ski resort town about 45 minutes East of Yamagata.
Came here a bit by chance and was very lucky indeed. This town is so charming, lots of little lodges and restaurants, it's pretty, clean and surrounded by mountains, ski slopes and lakes. On the first day i visited the different sites: two lakes, the shrines etc... Yesterday i climbed Okama (there is ropeway ...

... the way so the trains weren't working anymore, we had to wait for a bus and then the bus left us at another train station and finally we got where we needed to be. Total time by local train: 13hours.
Collapsed once i arrived in the hotel that had a shower, which i hadn't had for two days (lol) and passed out.

Just a stopover for a night in Tendo where we arrived late (thank you Japanese Railways for delaying us 3 hours) and left early the next day.
