    ... then Malacca in Malaya then, to establish the great Malacca empire in the 1400's. Palembang recognizes this and has a great collection of articles and write ups displayed here in the pavilion.

    Pindang Sekanak...A Wonderful Dish

    ... However, the reason we came here was to try out another specialty dish of fish called Pindang Sekanak.

    This fish is steamed and then cooked in spicy soy sauce. The soy sauce has been left to soak with chillies for at least 30 days thus making it extremely spicy.

    ... hotel lobby. The destination for tonight is to have a good Chinese dinner in Palembang as it is our last night here this trip.

    We were taken to this lovely restaurant SQ Dempo which is a Chinese Halal restaurant. It is owned by Chinese but is manned entirely by local Indonesians. Simple setting but definitely great ...
