... and wool blankets. So we all got to sleep during the ride. (Well, Andre and the two guys got to sleep.) The train was really loud for some reason (between the tunnels we went through and the loud rail itself) so I didn’t get to much sleep. Also, we got woken up by police once at the Montenegro border for customs and then twice more at the Serbian border for passport checks and visa stamps and customs. It was a long night.

Sveti Stefan, Serbia and Montenegro schwateI'll never forget the best night club in the world. I'll never know exactly where it was, unless my friend tell me because it was at night. It was the best night club in the world. We walked in an underground tunnel, underneath the Adriatic sea and came to this really cool island (small island) with a multi level night club several levels, dancing and live entertainment. You could even swim at night ! It was the best club in the world I have ever seen; what fun (!)
Sveti Stefan, Montenegro lpcyu... United States dollars for ten days; meals included. Unlike hotels in America, meals meant an extremely large home cooked breakfast consisting of large varieties of meat, coffee and juice. Lunch and dinner consisted of many course meals where main dishes consisted of either freshly caught seafood or meat. Our accommodation consisted of two medium sized rooms with separate entrances; one for myself and another for Darko and Bojana. To reach the beach we only needed to walk across ...
Serbia and Montenegro, Serbia lpcyu... few more Niksicko's (strictly speaking I'd concluded my research into all the different varieties already, but, as a lager-scientist I insist on thoroughness). The Irish pub had become more crowded since I'd left, although Constantine (watch out ladies, he's single and he has a strange name...) left just as I was arriving. I sat down at the bar and ordered a Niksicko dark. A fine quality dark lager with an almost chocolatey ...
Podgorica, Montenegro englishanddrunk... which is also a world heritage site. While talking to the concierge, I see the girl from the night before. She is speaking English with a strong and clearly Russian accent and is looking for a place to eat dinner! I quickly step in and recommend Gil's from the night before, and we start talking. I take a long shot, and say that she should probably join my buddy and I for dinner in ...
Kotor, Croatia madman96... only a few of us around here. It was a good place to share stories/ advice or where to and not to visit. When I got there, I was pleased to meet back up with Tony from the Durmitor marathon hike. We decided to continue our athletic forays. Biked around today to see Sveti Stefan. It's an exclusive resort island for the rich and famous. I have wanted to see it for myself ...
Sveti Stefan, Serbia and Montenegro lilyc... of the town. Happy with my find, I go off and search the town. I decide (somewhat foolishly) to climb the town fortress, which is 1500 steps up the mountain- at 12:30pm. Am doing quite well at doing stuff in the heat of the day. Was definitely worth it though, just for the views over the town and the Bay of Kotor. Incredible blue water, and you can see the town layed out like a map from above. Exhausting though! Especially as I am trying a new thing to ...
Kotor, Serbia and Montenegro sarahx... their city. These were not men in uniform, but common citizens who felt they needed to do something. The next exhibit we saw was put together by a photographer during the war. There was live footage playing on a TV, showing the widespread devastation the city suffered after being attacked. Many sites, I realized, were restored and were amongst those we had seen just hours before. Photos hung on the walls showing these major sites, before and after restoration. It was ...
Dubrovnik, Croatia the_stamms... The whole town is enclosed by a great wall, which includes one of our highlights of the trip, which was to walk around on top of the wall around the entire city. The wall is approx. 1 mile around. The city was quite devastated about 15 years ago when Croatia was at war with Serbia. We saw pictures of what the city looked like during that time. To what the city is now, it has come along way!! So beautiful!! We spent much of our ...
