... my group had made since the beginning of the tour.
We also had did something else to celebrate our Cast B 2009 boys :) Laura Lynn, our fearless music coordinator, made a video of famous fight scenes for our guys.
Of course the video started off with the "Jack, I'm flying!" scene from Titanic; just to get the boys a little worried about what the video ...
... burst with laughter! At the end of the dance number, Tim (Chicago) almost drops Leslie (Arizona). And Leslie and Paul's (South Dakota) costumes almost came off during "Jai Ho", a dance from India.
I'm sure more funny moments occurred but those were the ones that I noticed. But of course, our shows are so full of energy that I'm sure no one in the audience noticed.
Right? :)
Well, time for bed! We have a Vattanfall show tomorrow and then... we ...
... part of the best UWP Cast ever! They deserve the best treatment!
We had so much fun appreciating our guys and showering them with love :)
I'm now at my new host family's home with Aude, my roommate, from Quebec, Canada. Our host family is wonderful :) We have 2 host sisters too! They are 17 and 19.
Well, time to get ready for bed :) By the way, look at your calendar right now! 3 weeks from tomorrow ...
... with an extensive and beautiful 16th century altarpiece. Then I saw the place of H.C Andersons childhood. He was very poor and lived in a tiny house shared with five other families. The nice lady allowed me to go in for free because I had run out of Danish Krona. I am meeting Australians everywhere.
... 40 minutes away. It was a beautiful castle to visit, with a moat and all! There were gorgeous gardens of all kinds. We visited the Castle, and also the adjoining museums (veteran car museum, motorcycle museum, grocery museum, etc.) We also did a maze made of hedges which was surprisingly very difficul! Then the four of us walked through a tree top path! It was really fun! :)
I forgot to mention earlier ...
... in a spot called Thuro, only a few minutes from the main town of Svenborg. It was really lovely to be able to meet the family and we learnt a lot from them, things we never would have had the opportunity to learn otherwise!
It was Ole's birthday (64th, although he doesn' look a day older than 45 -- I told luc we needed to move to Denmark!) and so they invited us to their place for diner that night! They live in Svenborg, only a 20 min. drive away from the ...
...to Denmark.
The original plan was to drive all the way to Copenhagen and stay on a campsite there. But since it rained and rained and rained, we decided to stop earlier and have a good rest before heading to Copenhagen and meeting up with Laurents & Iris at the airport there. We were lucky and found a really nice campsite right at the beach with a view of the Storebaelt Bridge :-)
During our study tour to Odense, Denmark we visited three communities, a school and residential community for persons with special needs, an "integrated" public school, and a community for adults with special needs. Throughout my time in Denmark I have learned about the inter-dependent relationship and strong sense of belonging largely created by the social welfare system. It became clear as we traveled to another part of Denmark that services ...
Odense, Fyn and the Central Islands, Denmark annalise.m... in the 13th century, in romanesque style. Almost right next to it there was the oldest residential building in town still in use, Anne Hvides Gård, built in 1560. I explored the area around Vor Frue kirke, returned to Torvet, and then descended to Havn, i.e. the port. Svendborg used to be teeming with shipyards where wooden ships were built to meet the needs of Danish, mostly merchant fleet. But that was before. There are just a few left there today. At ...

Svendborg is described in most travel books as the place you go to to get a ferry going somewhere else. When we arrived at about 4pm, the city was closing for the day. Did I mention it was a Friday night? We even searched in vain for somewhere to eat before settling on McDonald's. Actually, it was quite the party as it seemed like half the town ...
