Jain Temple Road Khajuraho Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India, 91-,-7686-274145-,-274572

Enjoy, but for those of you who don't want to see sexual content (even in stone) perhaps you should skip this blog. After a scheduled nine hour (thirteen) bus ride we pulled into Khajuraho, tired, hurting, and hungry. Our plan was to take a few days and rest here, it only depended on finding a restful place. The bus rides in India are not simply long, but the busses are in the worst shape imaginable. Every bump in the roads, which are in worse condition than the busses, make your body ache an...
Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India alonandjennyWoke up at midnight feeling fairly woozy but my stomach and bowels felt fine. Decided to go to the toilet to flush out everything but nothing happened. In stead, whilst sitting on the loo, my body temperature went sky high and I started sweating all over but it only lasted for about 5 minutes and I went back down to normal again. Felt OK except that I was burping the biriyani I had at the Milan. I went back to bed and woke up a couple of more times before getting up at 8am still feeling woozy...
Khajuraho, India glynNamaste! Khajuraho is a small town with lots of annoying men but it is all worth it after seeing the kama sutra temples. That's not what they're called, officialy they're the Khajuraho Temples. No one is quite sure why these were built. A few theories: 1. They suggest that sex was a way of practising restraint. 2. A how-to manual for adolescent boys growing up in all male schools. 3. The figures were thought to prevent the temples from being struck by lightning. 4. These are tantric images an...
Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India jeneggenerEverywhere in India when new people arrive, the local shopkeepers and auto-rickshaw drivers swam around them with enticements of every kind of goods and services imaginable. It can be confusing and even overwhelming if you are not prepared for it. After a day, one normally sorts out those just looking for a quick buck from those genuinely interested in you and your stories. We were fortunate enough to find many such genuine people in Khajuraho. We shared chai, laughs and swapped experiences. ...
Khajuraho, India judiciaHello, Had a great time in Khajuraho and felt really chilled and relaxed, and we managed to stay in a hotel (Surya) that had a hot shower which was great. When we first arrived we were hassled by a few touts, the one that picked on me everytime I left the hotel was called Ricky Martin, altought I am slightly suspicious that he may have been lying. Anyway he tried everything to get me into his shop, that he was learning Engligh, learning computer programming, at one stage he started singing Li...
Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India mattc76Hi, Today I took a bus to Khajuraho (five hours) and I was the only tourist in the bus. I arrived in Khajuraho at 16.00 pm and took a room in hotel Surya for 275 rp per night. In the evening I had a dinner at Raja's cafe which is in front of the temple complex. I also saw the sound and light show at the western temples. The show documents the history and culture of Khajuraho over the past 4000 years. The temples of Khajuraho are deservedly one of India's major attractions. Once a great Chande...
Khajuraho, India rienKhajuraho...a dusty blip on the map in the middle of drought plagued plains. Known world wide for it's intricate stone sculptures of nude ddancing girls and erotic depictionsof sensuous orgies of the gods and courtesans.... the reality is a dusty scorched town in the low season where hungry dark eyes follow you everywhere.... There is definitely an underlying tension between the locals and their foreigner meal ticket, espeically tangible in the oppressive heat that beats down everyone by noon....
Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, India w4ndererOur taxi drive was hands down the most blissful three hours on this trip. It was quiet, air conditioned, and hassle free. As soon as we pulled into Khajuraho, the bubble burst. As soon as we stepped out of the taxi and by just one hotel we were thinking of, we were surrounded by touts offering rickshaws, hotels, and visits to shops (sigh). Even the locals are annoyed by the ne'er-do-wells that come in and ruin their town. Whilst cycling around the town, I get speaking to a local student, who ...

The rest of the carvings depict the everyday life of the common Indian of the time when the carvings were made and various activities of other beings including alot of elephant action. There are also gods, goddesses, dragons, warriors, mythological animals, musicians, potters, farmers and other folk including some ...
... don't know. It's almost as if it's a matter of deep personal pride that they appear to know what you want! Unfortunately, just like many of the naff directions I'd been given, I was learning to question their validity and reliability! I was very lucky to find a bus that, despite having to wait an hour for it to leave, managed to get me into Jhansi just before my train left for Agra.
This was my first 2nd class seat with the rank and file of India (although no ...
