It was a short descent to Escouloubre where Steve and Gilles packed in and called for a pick-up. Tim soldiered on.

The climb to Col du Garavel and the photos there were routine.

Houses perched on mountain tops and villages sitting in the valley and on little 'pimples' that rise in the valley. Many years and years old. Saw one that has yet to be claimed and I claim it for my next house!

... road, a squashed Adder and a lot of trees until I broke out a few miles later at the top! Le Tour De France has never been this way and never will. Its a dead end and It's all mine! The descent was dangerous and almost impossible on my touring bike with limited breaking powers, a buckled wheel from a few days ago and a wobbly head set, but I didn't care. I was Queen of the mountain for a very short hour. Clive welcomed me home with a chicken curry and an ice cold ...
