... items of historical interest, including the beautiful armour worn by the samurai and castle lords. The samurai armour is a work of art, with beautifully woven, colourful designs, topped off with elaborate and detailed helmets. Happily, we were allowed to photograph them, which is often not permitted. And lot of narrow stairs, but well worth the effort.

Today we went back to the castle district to look at Shioni Nawate, which is the street ...

Today was our day at Kashima Junior High School. Tayla, Devon and Ethan all turned up with smiles on their faces, so that is always a good sign! kashima JHS is a small middle school with only 160 students. The school, however, is pretty big. It is three stores with a huge gymnasium, library, martial arts area and even a sumo ring! First thing we went to the school assembly and watched the ...

This morning after a quick trip to the post office to stock up on some money we caught the Lakeline bus to the castle. The bus was a very cute old fashioned tram. The castle was incredible. We were so lucky to get there with the cherry blossoms in full bloom and a lovely warm sunny day. We even luckily saw a ninja there and had some photos taken. Saw another two weddings there too, people must love the photo ops with ...
