Ogawara-machi, Tohoku, Japan clemandpo... magnifique.
Yamagata, Tohoku, Japan clemandpo... to have 100% soba noodles and soba mochi (mmmmm). It was the most beasutiful little resturant in the nmiddle of a residential street. We then had welcome drinks (imported tuscan wine) and cheese - which pretty much made the night perfect as I've been missing wine lots! The Olympics opening ceremony was on and we all sat there amazed at it - I loved the beginning bit with the light boxes :). The following night the violin school had a famous japanese ...
Yamagata, Tohoku, Japan lotsterHi guys. This is the first dairy of my blog. Today, I'm going to write about Sakata which's a part of Yamagata. ---The fascinations of Sakata--- Population --98,599 (as of 2005) Location -- Northwest of Yamagata Speciality -- Beans(called "dadacya mame), cherry, pickles, apple, melon I've stayed in Sakata city for 10 days to get a driver's licence. I have to stay here 5 more days...lol
Yamagata, Tohoku, Japan naoko1209... I believe studied in England at a university there. His English was excellent with a slight British flavor! We were picked up by Judko at our hotel in the morning after breakfast, and went with the two (who I had mistakenly assumed were married). Judko drove-again sitting on the right side of the car-which still confused me! We went to the Akiu Hot Springs (Akiu Onsen) in a very beautiful hotel in the mountains. http://www.city ...
Akiu Sendai Miyagi Prefecture, Japan wa2y2d... short time, but the rather elegant lounge bar on the 14th floor of this hotel appeals a little more - it has a great view of the city, and the nights are clear and cold, so should be a good sight. It snowed a little here this morning, but stayed quite sunny - it doesn't turn cloudy, windy, rainy, then snowy, it just seems to get very cold, snow a little, and move on - I like it here, and I can see what Tom likes about it.
Sendai, Japan richncol06 November 2006 : We left Tokyo early to get to Sendaļ, a city near the cost, by train. The landscapes here are amazing, on one hand the sharp rocks, the small islands, and the bays, remind us of Britain, but on the other hand the pine tree, the smell of the vegetation, it seems that we where in the Landes, an other region of France in the South West. The result is ...
Sendaï, Japan tenoram... soup?!? After that was another visit to Lawson's, where I was shown Sake in a juice box by a (probably drunk?) funny Japanese woman because she said it was very dry and to drink it along with a snack of dried fish to give the sake proper balance!?!? I bought neither, but we did have a fun conversation. Is this really my life, right now?!? Tongue, tail, and drunken Japanese women telling me what to buy?!? Really?!?
Sendai, Japan nyguy79... party is saying, but laughs anyway. This comedy was only increased as the couple discussed for a good five minutes how to fit this into a small box. So I rode a bike around, and realized a few things about myself. First off, I am really out of shape. Once I got to the smallest hill, I was huffing and puffing my way up it. Second, I really like to be out in the rice paddies, in the small town areas of Japan. Very peacefull. But could I live there? Without communication ...
Yamagata, Japan daneish... atmosphere of the place, was the bell I saw just before the entrance, which had a couple of signs on either side of it. One said something like "negai goto wa mittsu made" [you're allowed up to three wishes] and the other "negatta koto made doryoku shiyou" [let's exert ourselves to achieve the things for which we've wished]. I couldn't help by feel sobered by the reminder that we seem to have become as a society so ...
