      ... coming in lower and greyer and just as we got in the van it started to rain a bit. For lunch we went to a local place and had an absolute feast. Home made soba which were cold, you dip into a soy type sauce with shallots and wasabi and slurp them up, fried marinated tofu, tempura vegies and dipping sauce as well as some nasty little fishy things which I tried then gave away.       ... snacks to make up lunch was a good way to go. This fuelled us seek the train to Matsumoto where the historic castle is. On recommendation we got the express wide view train to give us nice views of the surrounding area in comfort. It was quite a nice journey, heaps of tunnels as we went up through the mountain area.
