This morning was a bit uncertain as we found out that the volcano at Mt Aso near Kumamoto is on alert and access to the crater is closed. It was only that I thought to check the Japanese Bureau of Meteorology website for the Kumamoto forecast that we found this out.
Mt Aso is the largest caldera in the world with a circumference of over 100km so we were looking forward to seeing it and the only reason we were going to Kumamoto which is ...
... Canal City before walking back to our hotel. We were pretty exhausted after a day of walking and shopping so we relaxed for a couple of hours before heading out for dinner. We decided to head to the onsen as soon as we could before dinner. We went in the two indoor onsen first which were very similar and smallish. The water was so warm! Then we went to one of the outdoor onsen. Each one has it's own entrance and indoor area to leave your stuff and wash before getting in. This one was so nice. It was ...
