    ... last year when I was up this way the sun was shining high and the views were fantastic. Last year it was total mist and extremely dangerous to say the least as one could not see ten feed ahead and oncoming cars were simply a nightmare.

    This great little road leads up to the mighty high pointed Dolomite mountains. As I get higher the views of these high peaks looks magnificent. Last year I never realised just how close this road actually goes to these massive ...

    ... narrow path for walking! Very scary!

    They took her advice and we watched them walking along their narrow path and they finally appeared . . .at which point John said, "That was stupid!" Apparently, the trail was all up - some switchbacks and some sheer up!

    They grabbed a beer and some lunch and we all headed down. By this point, we were feeling rain drops on our pretty little heads. :-(. The clouds dropped ...

    We left the hotel around 10:00. Found our way to the start of this hike. Through several villages and a long way down this narrow road, built only for one vehicle at a time. And we have a large vehicle! Avi and Colette decided to stay behind this morning. Plenty of restful things to do right here at La Cacciatora!

    So - there were two ways to get to this waterfall - by a dirt road or by this hiking ...

    ... is an advantage if one speaks the language, luckily I do speak a bit so we could order a glass of wine and some food which was just great, the taste incredibly fresh and the wine was just local but great.

    This was the only place in the village where actually one could wine and dine, so we were the only tourists, surrounded by the locals who were already checking us out from the moment we stepped in the place.

    ... switching back! It's been good here though. Hopefully you will be able to see from the pictures I will add to the blog tomorrow (and yesterday's blog as well) how amazing it is here. We only have Internet in the public areas though and I'm not sure when the next time I will have access to Internet will be.
