Small and sleepy Beppu is famous for it's mineral hot springs and onsen. So, we just spent a lazy day bathing, watching Olympia and doing pretty much nothing at all.
But the most memorable thing about our stay here was our hotel for the night. We had booked a so called capsule hotel; a kind of accommodation unique to Japan and therefore something we wanted to try out. Nach dieser anstrengenden Tour brauchte ich natürlich eine ordentliche Erholung. Also ging ich zu einem der hochgelobten Onsens: einem Mixed Outdoor-Mud-Onsen, also einem riesigen Freiluftschlammbad, in dem sich sowohl Männer als auch Frauen nackt tummelten. Es war anfangs schon etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber anschließend war ich wirklich suuuper entspannt! :) Aus nachvollziehbaren Gründen habe ich von diesem tollen Bad leider keine Bilder gemacht.
