... to try the sauce and there were actually two packets within the package - one sauce like consistency and one that I assumed was Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top. I cooked my pasta and got it all ready in my bowl, opened the sauce package and started to pour - out came a pale orange looking sauce that tasted like fish. Out of the 'Parmesan cheese' package came dried seaweed. So much for my initial intuition. It was ...
Tokyo, Japan beth... tea outside our door. Each night only cost us about $30 U.S. The best part of the hotel was the bath and shower rooms. The women's room was on the roof and the stone shower was outdoors. After showering, you soak in the traditional hot bath which was also on the roof. Video: Women's Onsen at Ryokan Kangetsu In Japan, I have never felt more like an alien. The language, customs, television programs, food and culture were completely foreign ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan skylarking... kindly allowed us to leave our main bags there, which allowed us to travel only with our day pack and a toiletries bag. So we caught the train to Kawasaki. Higashi-Kanagawa station was our first train change on our way to Kawasaki. This station is what I always imagined Japanese train stations were going to be like. Wall to wall people. We have been pretty lucky so far. Even at Tokyo there has been enough room to walk ...
Kawasaki, Kanto, Japan apat... creepy 40 year old guy was there right next to me, staring down like he was searching for someone (although I guess we were no less creepy...? I don't know, I kinda doubt that...he was pretty creepy.) Then we wandered the streets, and found a dive izakayaa place to go eat some appetizers and have a couple of beers, then I found this amazing looking store called Warszawa..it was this super eclectic, hip little indie-rock record store. They even had some nifty little literary concept ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan audrangea... you call it to go out there. Turned out I made a big deal out of nothing, because the women there were all super friendly and made me feel really comfortable. Besides the fact that the water was scalding hot, the whole experience was great and I left Japan super satisfied. Next stop... Kuala Lumpur. I suppose this is where I say that I have no plans and we'll see happens, but it seems like every entry ends like that, so how about just goodbye :)
Tokyo, Japan randommaia... life size model of one his houses. That night we headed to Harajuka (the trendy fashion district) for all you can eat sushi, delicious! After getting our tourist fill, we were ready to escape the megatropolis. Tokyo, Japan richI added the last two entries today together with the actual one now, because in our "stable" we do not have free internet access. I cannot use my notebook and 20 minutes internet on the one computer here costs 100 Yen. Because of that and the fact that the connection is not really fast I won't upload photos. I will add them in the last week when we will be back in Asakusa with free wireless web access or earlier if we ...
Tokyo, Japan coplannTokyo. wow! If you ever get the chance, come here. I love it. Its huuuuuuuge! But one of the friendliest places i have ever been to. And clean. No jokes, not one piece of litter in the street or a bit of graffiti anywhere! Im actually in Perth now and its such far cry for the big city I expected. Its like Brighton size, with a few high rises. Anyway, Tokyo, Hostel was really cool. Got there at lunch time Friday and woke up a ...
