... She also drove us the short distance to the ferry . As we left the harbour, Shozo pulled alongside the ferry and waved for at least a minute as we did likewise from the upper deck.

The fast descent revealed that our brakes were less than adequate to stop the bikes if need be. It’s a good thing that there are only a couple of dozen vehicles on the island. Graeme ended up in a drainage ditch after one descent and later on we reached a point in the road completely blocked with trees downed in the typhoon earlier this week.

Our Sunday started out with a visit to the Keystone Nazarene Church - Josh's church home for the past two years. What a warm and gracious group of people! We are so grateful that they have been his family while in Japan. This is an English church and seems to largely composed of military families.
