It was nice to have the option to buy Wi-Fi for the night, but the location with construction surrounding the hotel was a bit of a nucense. The rooms were very nice, though, which made up for it! Also, the room service was delicious!

By this point a large crowd of passers by have joined in to 'HELP', handily they are all babbling away in Hindi which of course we understand fluently, arranging our lives for us with out so much as a by your leave. Returning at 11 this time sadly, no wait gladly, ...

... Chandigarh and notice that it's suddenly quiet. And, for a brief moment, you miss the civility of home.

Chandigarh is India's first planned city. After the Partition of India and Pakistan, Punjab needed a new capital city to replace Lahore, which had become part of Pakistan. It was decided that a new city be built, and the Prime Minister at the time (Nehru) gave sweeping freedom to French architect Le Corbusier ...

The groom has been raised in both religions: hindoo and sikh, and wanted to have both ceremonies. This one was much shorter and consisted in some songs and the bride and groom circuling the shrine (making their vows in a way). According to the tradition, the bride's family steels the ...
