    Afterwards we headed to the canal museum which was very different from what I had expected but still cool to hear about how the city was built up. We learned that there are giant wooden posts holding the city up because it was originally built on marsh land. Also, the canals are like giant swimming pools, all flowing through cement riverbeds.

    Finally we made it to the Heineken Brewery ...

    ... we left a message with the front desk to meet us at the main monument at dam square.

    We met at the monument as well as meeting Menzies two friends we hung out with prior.
    Maggie and I ad read about a brewery with a tour of local Belgium styled beer that is brewed in Amsterdam under a windmill.

    After a full on month we have made it to our final destination where we say farewell to our travel friends. What better place to chill out and celebrate than Amsterdam.     Day 12

    Today we navigated the Dutch train system and a local bus and took a day trip into the countryside to see Kinderdijk, which is a UNESCO site of the largest number of original windmills in the Netherlands. The windmills were built around 1740 to drain the water from that region (20%) of the Netherlands is below sea level).
