Lovely colonial style hotel - little outside of Kandy town near the lake and tooth temple. Very high ceilings and comfortable rooms - but you need to take the aged windows and bathrooms (all?) with the overall picture. Very friendly staff (as ever) and lovely restaurant setting though we eat in town in the evenings Good breakfast.

True to his word he was there at 5 and we picked up a couple of others too and headed for the park. We were there around 6 hours and saw ...

After finally arriving, it was dark, and our guesthouse had arranged for a friend to pick us up in his tuk tuk. Okay, so first experience in a tuk tuk was in the rain, up the steepest, bumpiest little road into the hills!! I was clinging on for dear life, whereas Grace thought it was the best thing ever haha! Trying to keep my rucksack from falling out the 'boot' by leaning against it, holding on tight, and watching the view as we went higher up the hill was lots of fun ...
