... This section of the autobahn was formerly part of the DDR or East Germany. But I am getting a head of myself.

Saturday morning I wake up early and start calling the hotels recommended by Rick Steve's to see if they have availability. 8 hotels in, one does. I pack my bags, check out, and hit the road. ... t find street signs anywhere. So we stopped at a gas station in Salzburg to find someone to give us directions. This nice man walked into the station, helped us find our location on the map and then offered to escort us all the way to our hotel, just to make sure we didn't get lost.
