Today we slept in a bit. We had a slow beginning of the day. I put a load of wash in the washer. Thank goodness the owner was here and a woman, Heidi, who spoke excellent English. ... VERY cold and it got down to 7 degrees there. So I wore my new warm coat – tag still on it as I hadn’t taken it off yet. We had a nice light lunch in a pretty café. On to Salzburg. Our hotel, The Gasthof Junior is on a very main road – it seems like it will be very noisy but the room is clean and fine. We rested and then went for a walk in the local area. It has good parts and bad. As the Internet is not excellent in ...

      Rain, Silver Train, and Rain

I was woken up at 8:00 by the rain pouring on the roof of our penthouse. Derek was up at 8:45, Erin at 9:00 and I woke Larry up at 9:15 in hopes that the rain would quit. It did not. We spent a lazy morning writing blogs, reading and surfing the internet. The rain started to abate a little about 11:00. The highlight of the morning was the 11:30 arrival of the steam train on the tracks by our apartment. We watched from the balcony. We ...
