    ... along the way. Of course I was worried about Dad and a few of the others making it down in one piece, that I wasn't always watching my step but theirs and ended up falling twice myself. All good, just a bruised ego!

    Our reward was lunch at the end of the trail at a hotel/restaurant that had a lovely patio to take in the views. We could have walked the rest of the way back into the town, but it is a boring paved walk with not much to look ...

    The bear managed to catch a glimpse of the hiker in front of us and stood up on his hind legs to get a better look. No further cue was needed that it was time to back off.
