In the afternoon we did another optional tour "Visit to the Postojna Caves" a heritage listed site, taken my train underground then a 90 minute walk through the caves of natural limestone sculpture. This was a fantastic tour and well worth the money, all up 5 and a half hours although we couldn't take photos inside the caves. We've had the buffet dinner in the hotel each night included with Trafalgar Tours.

... verandah overlooking the beautiful lake. A walk around the lake afterwards was very enjoyable, plenty of swans and ducks.

Slovenia is a small but beautiful country, it is mainly forests and the favourite past time in Summer is trekking and in Winter it's sking, mushrooms grow wild and are a favourite meal, got mushroom soup for the entree everytime.

... Karl who was able to get me the number of Joe's daughter-in-law who's also traveling in Croatia. She was able text me Slavko's number.

Anyway, Slavko came in from near Slovenia to pick me up and go for a drive. It was of course rather weird actually seeing him in Croatia. Somehow it seems out of context. It's also funny being in the situation where it's him speaking to the locals without an accent and I'm the strange foreigner...

... It really puts me into a good mood. I left the Pension to go exploring at 11am and there was a fresh nip in the air. I love mornings like that! Pension Mayer is only two minutes walk from the lake and the town. I knew that there was a path to the castle up behind the Church of St. Martin, so I followed that one but it was through the forest and steep enough. I made it in fifteen minutes though.
