... the city really does feel trapped in time like so many European cities do. We really like how laid back the old town of Ljubljana feels with people strolling around leisurely and no cars allowed at all. The buildings are beautiful and many have not been restored in what looks like ages so the facades of many buildings are missing or breaking off. After walking around the city for a couple hours on our own, we joined a free walking tour of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

The numerous bridges were also very European in style and intricately designed. The old town was also very easy to get around as many of the main streets in the city centre are closed to all car ...

I cant recall what the difference was…I guess i never thought id need to remember as i have no intentions of making anyones form of sauerkraut…. ill leave that one to the gourmet local delis. Opposite Vodnikov Trg and all along the river leading back towards the main square, was a beautiful long white ...

We met up with Carolyn, whom we had made acquaintance at Bled who was misinformed on bus times and missed her bus and was also staying at the hostel. It was not long before we discovered that the hostel was offering some free wine and board games and our host brought out some liqueur, schnapps and the promised wine and lined us up. We tried a drink the some of the locals had which was a shot of bitter schnapps followed by ...
