... to shut the door.. unusually for me I didnt scream either. This scared Kathleen more and we sat there in shock. I have no idea what it was but we were so big and brave (not) that we ended up driving to the car park we stayed in the night before.. oh dear.
Saturday we had had enough and left Elba.. trying to squeeze onto the first ferry, and missing out and headed to Florence...
Biadola 10, Cavoli 10, Procchio 9, Lacona 7

Punta Ala, Italy jpsaby... that brought to mind. Then the Isola Pianosa came into view, with Elba also visible in the clouds further ahead. Elba looked unspoilt, with small cliff-top villages perched between the sea and the clouds. Over to the west we could see a high grey profile of Corsica. By about 16:00 we had reached our anchorage ...
Elba Island, Tuscany, Italy pete-r... some from them and post them on here anyway. Then they took us to a town called Marino del Campo for a couple hours where there was a beach to play on. THEN we went back, had dinner, and passed out from a busy day. It was a very good weekend, and I can't wait till next weekend when we go to Cinque Terre!! I'll upload pictures on here soon, I just need to charge my battery in my camera. Ciao for now!
Elba Island, Tuscany, Italy eowens2... belts - 1 plain, the other 2 heavily chromed, one with studs. I entertained myself for nearly half an hour trying to think about how he worked out how to dress that day and what impression he wanted to make. There should be more of it. That afternoon I arrived in Venice and spent some time with my friend Denise and her son Tommaso. Denise and I went to the Lido, hired bikes and rode to her beach cabin and sunbaked a little on one of the sun-platforms built over the sea. The ...
Elba Island, Tuscany, Italy everardt... through Napoleon's villa on his island of exile. The sea is so salty that when you're in it you are completely buoyant. You can just suspend there in the water in standing position and you don't even have to move at all to stay up. I swam way far out with a group of people to a tiny rock island and we climbed up and plunged back into the sea from the top. I curled up in a little ball and hung there in the salt water, gazing at the many ...
Elba, Italy kthleeny... we took our backpacks with since we are going to stay in Florence tonight. the bus ride went much quicker than to Rome, but it was a morning of thunderstorms. By the time we arrived in Florence it was nice and sunny. our guide took us to several historical places of interest and gave us much history and back ground. at 3 o'clock several of us went with the guide to ...
Florence, Italy sue_and_steveGreat Island! It belongs to the Tuscany region and is next to Livorno where you can take a ferry to arrive. We travelled around the island with our teacher and classmates and visited some geological interesting points. We will probably come back... but this remains a mystery...
Portoferraio, Italy beagui... leads from the mountain range to end abruptly at the rocky shore. Three to four-story buildings built onto each other in a chaotic mess along this ravine spill into the tiny harbor. The trademark of Cinque Terre is that each building is painted in bright colors including greens, oranges, and reds. The towns looked like arteries with a main branch and little random smaller branches off of it Our apartment was on the second floor with a stairwell so steep and narrow it ...
