Route des Sanguinaires Ajaccio, Corsica, France, 20000
Ajaccio is the capital city of Corsica with a population of around 65,000. It's on the west coast of the island on a large bay (where ferries from mainland France arrive) and although it is only 125kms from Porto-Vecchio it takes about 3 hours to drive there.
On the day we decided to drive to Ajaccio, it was fine though overcast - we we...

Next few days spent out and about in Ajaccio, home of Napoleon and Hello Kitty fanatics... even saw the Hello Kitty car. Population around 60,000 and the largest city in Corsica.
Pretty mellow place, dogs galore including some old lady with her asthmatic pug called Oscar being dominated by one of the many many local cats.

Left Toulon on the 17th around lunch, went to the markets beforehand... fooooood!!!! All a great idea when you're buying, not so good when you're carting it back to the boat.
Outside the port is the military, all the naval boats are massif. Stopped a few hours out near an island for a swim, then the long and relaxing haul to Corsica.
Bonjour from Corsica. We just got back from our tour and let me tell you something. Ajaccio only has one real claim to fame, that being the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, and they're not shy about reminding you of it. Plenty of Napoleon statues, streets and monuments to see. Want to see where Napoleon was born? Down that street, sir. Want to ...

His teacher is very nice and she even let me join in on the conversation and exercises. We were practicing the future and she made fun of Ross a lot for always answering that he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. We left Cannes around...

It turns out Ajaccio, on the island of Corsica, is part of France, and the birthplace of France's most famous little man, Napoleon. We woke up this morning to the stunning sight of the ancient fortress walls and beaches of the port city bathed in soft morning light, lushly forest hills risin...

Shame I had some inductions to go to and was kept quite busy so I wasn't able to take any pictures or get off the boat, but that will change next time. One word for this port- stunning!

Ajaccio, Corsica, France broony79Bonjour! Ok that is about as much french as I remember from school...pathetic right? We were originally scheduled to go to Bonifacio, France today but because of the wind we instead went to Ajaccio. This caused lots of drama at work last night which I won't get into. Both are on the island of Corsica, which is just south of the rest of France. E...
