Hotel Steigenberger Frankfurt-City

It was sooooo cold in Frankfurt, we didn't want to spend much time here since we had no winter clothing. WE got in late, went to our hotel, then back to the airport to get our flight to Bangkok moved up. We though it would be at 8 that night, but they managed to get us on the next flight out, which was pretty much within the hour. Woohooo! I also kept speaking Italian in Germany... so confused with all the languages.

... was quite friendly and helpful while he walked me through the purchasing process and the requirements. That is, he was kind until I could not locate my wallet. What a fiasco - he could not stop the transaction as he already rang me up and with each new person getting in line behind me, my panic rose and rose. I couldn't find my wallet anywhere. ... of Sulzbach, which was about twenty minutes outside of Frankfurt. We had a great dinner of warm, German soups and Jagerschnitzel at a local restaurant called Die Linde, and when you have dinner in the state of Hesse in early October, that means one thing &#8211; Apfelwein. ... information to Elliot that we were stuck in Bangkok and would be a day late. At 11.30 we got back to the check-in where we were told that there were three seats available. We had 40mins to get through immigrations, customs and then to the other side of Bangkok airport. We made it!!! 12 hours later we got to Heathrow and had to go through it all again. And man Heathrow is huge. Instead of a normal stop over we had to do a full on immigration's check-in, find our luggage then gap it on ...

... was also a free camp in a field somewhere near Frankfurt in Germany. Slightly more pleasant than the first night (nobody can be entirely comfortable camping in what was essentially a petrol station forecourt) but still very cold and wet and windy. Chicken and potatoes for dinner.

... and my Expedition I have written about "coincidences" and probabilities of meeting people in the most unlikely circumstances. Do I honestly believe that I will meet Alyssa at some small town in Switzerland with the same name as the place I was at when I thought of my business and just because I wrote something to the effect (not exactly) that some actress would whisk me away to her chalet in Switzerland and also (I haven't mentioned this yet) the day I thought of writing ...

... In fact, it was so foggy that we went right by Frankfurt and had to turn around. But we finally made our way to our little Hotel Falkenstein. It is an old home made into hotel rooms. The innkeepers (The Duhr family, parents, daughter, and grandchildren) have been running it for 48 years!
